Freakshow would be coming over soon but Desiree needed to do some things before he came. Namely some meditation to try and figure out what was wrong with Ember and for that she needed her incense and candles.
Stepping back into her meditative sanctuary she took a calming breath and summoned up the sticks of wormwood and hazel. She lit them with a blue flame and nealt down on the pillow in the center of the room. The smoke caressed her like a long lost lover and she shuddered at the touch, I want Ember back. Please...reveal to me what is wrong with her, she thought as she lit a dark purple candle in front of her with blue fire. She stared into the flames, letting it draw her in...deeper into the flames that called to her.
The marble floor stretched out in all directions so that it seemed endless, supported by white marble pillars that stretched into infinity. While she could see no walls or ceiling stained glass light trickled down in patches around her, images from the different tarot cards shimmered on the floor, and long ribbons and sashes of silk drapped from the infintely high ceiling to the ground; dancing in a wind she could not see. One of the black silks near her caressed her skin and she shivered at the touch and image raking through her intire body
"Hello, Desiree." Faux smirked and didn't waste time to make his wish, not allowing Ember the time to react.
"I wish you couldn't use your powers against me, and that you couldn't grant anyone else powers to use against me."
The powers rose within her and she floated off the floor. She couldn't stop them...she had no control. She looked at Ember with tearful eyes, "I'm...I'm so sorry," she choked out. The pink genie magic danced from her fingers and filled the room.
She jerked away from the silky drape. She didn't need the memories...she needed the future.
Click. Click. Click.
Desiree's head shot up. Where was that noise coming from? This was her sanctuary...her mind. There shouldn't be any clicking here. She tried to see through the numerous drapes but they shifted and twirled in an unseen wind and she couldn't see anyone.
Click. Click. Click.
'I don't know how long I can keep this up...'
A voice...a soft voice calling to her...only to be silenced by
Click. Click. Click.
'...and I can't help it...'
The steps were getting closer. She spun around in fear, who could enter this place?
'...you're all in terrible danger!'
A heat rose around her and Desiree gasped as one of the silken drapes caught aflame. Black fire...fire of chaos...of pain....as black as...
'STAY AWAY!'
Death loomed before her, a goddess of emmense power and vengence, a crooked smile on such a beautiful face. Black flames licked at her form and she loomed over Desiree who was too baffled to speak. She knew that face.
STAY AWAY!
A woman with blonde hair jumped out of nowhere just as the black flames shot up and scorched the white columns.
Desiree gasped for breath, smoke clogging her lungs. Her back burned and her eyes shot open to find that the candle had fallen over and was burning at the carpet. The djinn cursed and put the flames out quickly enough, the vision already fading like a bad dream. She had recognized the face of the goddess...but now she couldn't recall it. She cursed under her breath...if only she had more time...but she knew Freakshow would be there soon.
